Afua Thompson (WGHS 1987 YG) is the owner and CEO of HE Matthews Pharmacy in the UK.
Afua Thompson(Kessey) completed her sixth form education in 1989 in Wesley Girl's High School with the Class of 1987.
This is amazing. Kessey's Pharmacy was one of the four finalists for best independent pharmacy of the year 2022. She and her team were invited to The House od Commons (Parliament) to receive the award. Please see the photos.
In 2021 her pharmacy was commissioned by the NHS(National Health Service) to provide community Anti-Coagulation monitoring services to over 500 patients.
Her pharmacy was the only one in her region providing such an ambulatory and domiciliary service.
Earlier this year the class of 1987 added her name to the list of achievers because of that ourstanding accomplishent. This one tops it all.
Afua was a classmate in sixthform and pharmacy school of the VC of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Prof. Rita Dickson. In KNUST Afua was the Vice President of the pharmacy students association. She has been blazing her own trail for a long time.
